        It was high school awards night and Virginia was resigned to yet another lengthy monologue from Dr. Petrie who was to award the medal named for his wife to those students with a cumulative average of 90% or more. For the past three years she had endured it and knew that this, her last awards night ever, would be no exception for she herself was to be honoured. Suddenly Dr. Petrie clutched his chest and collapsed on the podium. He was carried offstage and Virginia breathed a sigh of relief as the principal assumed his role and called her name.
